2008 Scion xD Review

New Scion Style

The xD's futuristic exterior characterizes it as a Scion with its simple surfaces and sharp lines that flow from front to rear. Its urban personality is communicated by its wide stance, thick muscular body, accentuated wheel flares and large tires. Other styling cues that set the xD apart include a long and narrow back window, and the Scion family traits—horizontal headlamps, an integrated rectangular lower and upper grille, and turn signals built into the side mirrors.



Good Handling

Engineers designed the xD with a short, wide frame in mind for better handling and comfort. In addition, the xD features an L-arm type MacPherson strut in the front and torsion beam suspension in the rear for increased stability and a pleasing ride.

The xD's powerful stance sits on 16-inch steel wheels and 195/60 R16 tires. Customers will be able to choose from three all-new standard wheel covers which will also be shared with the all-new xB. The xD features front ventilated disc and rear drum brakes.

2009 Scion iQ Concept Review

At the 2009 New York Auto Show, Scion unveiled a special concept version of the Scion iQ micro-subcompact car designed to meet the transportation needs of young urban trendsetters.

Scion iQ concept is a new urban vehicle with a revolutionary package that is just over 10 feet in length and accommodates three plus luggage. As more and more urban centers are revitalized with a new sense of purpose, energy, and creativity, young people are moving in from the suburbs to embrace new urbanism and are looking for a car that suits their needs and delivers high emotional value.

Scion iQ concept is the intelligent answer to this need for highly emotional and efficient urban transportation. The convenience of having work, entertainment and culture nearby for young city-dwellers is a significant draw to urban centers. The vehicle must be able to navigate narrow, congested streets, park in tight places, have impressive fuel economy, and have compelling design and function.

2013 Scion FR-S Review

Scion unveiled its 2013 FR-S compact rear-wheel drive sports car to a crowd of eager car enthusiasts. The high-performance coupe is the fifth model to join the Scion family and will go on sale in the spring of 2012.

The Scion FR-S, which stands for Front-engine, Rear-wheel drive, Sport; is Scion's definition of an authentic rear-wheel-drive sports car with exceptionally balanced performance and handling, compelling style, flexible utility and surprising MPG.
"Serving as a laboratory for Toyota, Scion is always experimenting with new things, " said Jack Hollis, Scion vice president. "The brand is iconic with the xB, adrenalized by the tC, and groundbreaking with the iQ. The FR-S will no doubt serve as the halo car, expanding Scion into a new dimension of driving performance. "


The Scion FR-S is a true "scion, " born into a lengthy history of Toyota performance cars and motorsports. The sports car is most inspired by the AE86 generation of the Corolla, better known as the Hachi-Roku, meaning "8-6" in Japanese. The front-engine, rear-wheel-drive coupe was lightweight and well balanced, making it a solid choice for driving enthusiasts.

Inspired by the AE86, the Scion FR-S is designed around the core goal of achieving, "Pure Balance. " The balance begins with the strategic use of the world's only flat boxer engine in a front-engine, rear-wheel drive configuration. The engine's compact size and flat shape allow it to be mounted mid-ship and extremely low, giving the car a dynamically favorable front-to-rear weight ratio of 53: 47 and a low center of gravity comparable to some exotic supercars.

2012 Scion FR-S Race car

Scion unveiled its Scion Racing/GReddy FR-S race car during a press conference at the 2012 North American International Auto Show. The FR-S will be competing in the 2012 Formula DRIFT series with veteran driver Ken Gushi behind the wheel.

The 600-horsepower Scion FR-S race car is the result of a collaboration between Scion Racing and GReddy, a performance-products company that has been involved with Toyota and racing for over twenty years.

The race car is inspired by the 2013 Scion FR-S, a compact rear-wheel-drive sports car that will go on sale in the spring of 2012. The high-performance coupe is the fifth model to join the Scion family.

2011 Scion FR-S Concept



Scion introduced the rear-wheel drive FR-S Sports Coupe Concept, the New York International Auto Show 2011. Scion FR-S Concept to inspire a new model to come Scion brand in 2012.


Scion FR-S Concept, which is an acronym for the Front-engine, rear wheel drive, sport, Scion is the definition of a true rear-wheel-drive sports car with an exciting style, exceptionally well-balanced performance and handling, flexible, utility , and surprising, MPG.

2012 Scion iQ Review


Scion has announced that its 2012 premium micro-iQ subcompact will begin arriving at dealerships in October 2011. The Scion iQ is only 10 feet long yet seats four people, making it the world's smallest four-seater.

Intelligent Design, do not sacrifice

Instead of sacrificing comfort or features to reduce its footprint, the iQ is based on intelligent design. Six technical innovations are responsible for the iQ's ability to be small, but large capacity.
